hmmm…hey! we're being watched!

we emerged from gaia
birthed on opposite sides of her body

we lived many years apart
unaware of the movements of each other
allowing karma to run her course
and create the future conditions of our own meeting

then we met here, on gaia
our karma had ripened
and we were finally destined to meet

like metal in a magnetic field
mysteriously drawn together by the forces of our past

so from gaia we were birthed
as we all are

in this short but infinitely long life
all moments are distilled into one

on this spirit path we both walked separately for so long
now we simply walk together
and we contended with questions
that all genuine practitioners will ponder
are we selfish in our union?
are we attached to each other?

Ultimately
all things are pure
whether we are Milarepa, sitting in isolated mountain solitary retreat
or his teacher Marpa, amongst his family and business
whether we walk apart or together
this journey is fundamentally the same
awareness of illusory self and of illusory other

when we walk alone we can walk in igorance or awareness
similiarly, when we walk together, we can walk with ignorance or awareness
we choose to walk together in awareness, my love
and allow love to flow into us, through us, and out of us
not getting stuck anywhere

2 hearts becoming 1
1 heart melting into emptiiness

love finds its ways into these hearts
these bodies unite in temporary union
life is fleeting
gone before you know it
while love is here
grow this awareness
share with others
and prepare for illusory bodies disolution

heart dissolving when I say this
boundaries of body and world dissolving
only a fullness in the space where heart used to be
I know
that our whole lives will be like this
in every moment
we shall be completely dissolved

Soon these two bodies
separated by a lifetime's karma
will be reunited
to journey together
into mutual awareness
into supercalifragilisticexpealidociousness

In the relative, samsaric world
we exist
as separate beings
but this journey together
will be not unlike the Vajrayana path itself
transforming whatever ignorance we bring into our union
into wisdom nectar
Taking self-centered love
and finding at its root
pure nondual, primorial wisdom

You and I
have already passed many tests
have already seen Obstacles
and penetrated them through
to reveal their beautiful, underlying true form

With openess
we shall embrace all obstacles on our path
and welcome them as friends in disguise
oppurtunites
for each other's growth
and instead of running and hiding from them
which is the normal fear-filled, egoistic human tendency
which only brings greater separation, further alienation
and greater distance from the very truth our life's existence
is meant to move us towards
we will delight in the possibility
of revealing some old habitual karmic trace
and in so doing
move a step closer towards personal realization
of our own expansive inner truth

We already know, my love
that there is no criticism
only pointing out instructions from each to the other
of our karmic traces
pointing out done in the most loving of ways
from a position of deep love and respect for the other

Knowing this deeply
when old habitual feelings
of hurt and defensiveness arise
they dissolve immediately
in the field of love
which we have commited to surround ourselves with

When the light of our awareness shines on it
dissolves it like ice in the midday sun
melting away our fixed solid ego clingings
which make for stubborness and fixed views
destructive, illusory ego views of “I’m right” and “you’re wrong”
dissolving away all our subtle conceptual solidification
and revealing the unattachable
free flowing love of the universe beneath

We will melt together in every way
First 2 becoming 1
then 1 vanishing into 0
emptiness

For in genuine love
we recognize ourselves
as 2 currents of the primordial mother
reuniting and dissolving back into itself
our love combined
a whole which is greater than the sum of its parts

Our love
flows in the main artery of each others heart
bringing us back into the peaceful state
of a wild yogi and yogini

My love and I already know
that our journey together is one of awareness
of finding in this union
the love that will allow us to let go completely
of loving without attachment
to appreciate each other in the moment
and to see each other as a representative
of the primordial mother all around us
Already, we have made this sacrifice many times

We are each the diamond reflecting surface
that reflects the infinite network of jewels all around us
in each one of you

Loving in this way
together we move towards embodying
the highest aspirations of Shakyamuni Buddha
of dissolving our conceptual boundary
between the two poles
of internal and external reality
and in this way
allowing the free flow of natural bodhicitta

In love
we recognize this role of our hearts
when unblocked by pure bliss
the kind that can well up and trigger tears to flow effortessly
(…they're always behind the eyes, as Hummingbird always says!)
it becomes a conduit for this ceaseless flow of loving kindness
from the primordial mother
into our hearts
out of our hearts
and into the hearts of all those surrounding us
and back into the primordial mother
bodhicitta
reminding ourselves of our sacred inner truth

Each moment of blissful, heart melted unity
that we awaken with together in our morning
we bring into the rest of the day
to practice illusory body
as we move in the mandala surrounding us
and helps us to visualize all the deities around us
wrathful and peaceful ones, enemies and friends
all arisen from the same dharmakaya ground
solid appearing illusory forms
and when we return to our slumber at night
once again embracing each other
and dissolve into our second, lesser dream
to do luminosity practice and dream yoga

May blessings of our union
rain down upon all who encounter its effects
these words, or auspicously,
maybe our physical beings, one day
greeting each one of you

May our love
existing in the true spirit of bodhicitta
and for whom we recognize deep sacredness
be a reminder for all who see it
of the sacredness of their own loving relations in life

May these words resonate strongly
with all beings who come upon them
and remind them again
of the true meaning of union with another
and of the preciousness of all lives

Life is a wave
and we are all a part of it
We are at the crest of this wave
being alive and in this moment
Surely this crest will fall one day
and we all return
to the deep, unmoving ocean
of our primordial nature
While here and riding atop this wave of life
may we all find bliss and emptiness

What is there in life
other than great bliss?
…the great bliss of being alive
and being alive with other beings such as ourselves!
We humans, we must learn to live together, mustn't we?
as we love those in our own lives
we must love those in the rest of the world
in the same way

Our partners
they are the local place where we learn to cultivate love for everyone else in this cosmos
they are our microcosm and source of practice
for virtue, patience, kindness
and for how well we let go of our ego
how to deal with poisons should they arise
and transform them into wisdoms

When we, in our personal relationships have learned to unleash the bliss within each of us
then we can truly transform the world
For the world at war with itself
has it's roots in a failure of love in one's own personal life

It is the responsibility of each person in each such partnership of life
to transform the ignorance within their life into wisdom
to transform aggression into it's pure underlying form
of great clarity, precision and sharpness of awareness

Through so doing
the 2 partners assist themselves
in the genuine spiritual journey
of penetrating each their own illusory Self
and at the same time
they relate to the world in a non egoistic way as well
…with loving kindness and awareness
rather than aggression

In our relationship, if we fall  deeper into attachment, anger aggression and jealousy then we must recognize those signs as moving in a direction of egoistic clinging
On the other hand, if we lessen our attachment, become more loving, welcome obstacles and criticisms always as oppurtunities for growth, want to encourage our partners love to spill into other peoples lives, then those are signs of spiritual growth

We can all simultanously create
a beautiful, inspiring and blissful personal life
as well as a more humane world at large
simply by paying attention to our personal relationship
and seeing it as a genuine spiritual partnership
a constantly evolving spiritual training ground

Within the framework of our pesonal love
there is precious oppurtunity for cultivating ever greater love
that moves us towards realization
May we all seize this precious oppurtunity!
